A beautifully ornate vintage hand-beaded cardigan, dating approximately to the 1950s–60s, worked in a soft beige lambswool-and-angora blend and covered with dense bronze-tone floral beadwork.
The embellishment spreads across the neckline, shoulders and front panels in large flowers, leaves and smaller botanical motifs, with additional beadwork continuing onto the cuffs and upper back. The cardigan is fully fashioned and lined through the body, giving the lightweight knit more structure while protecting the reverse of the hand-applied beadwork.
The original label notes that the piece was hand beaded and made in Hong Kong. The fibre label confirms 70% lambswool, 20% angora and 10% nylon. Tagged size 38.
