Gianni Versace Vintage Black Leather Medusa Medallion Top Handle Bag

A vintage Gianni Versace top-handle bag in supple black leather, centred with an oversized two-tone Medusa medallion across the front.

Cut in a softly structured silhouette, the bag features twin rolled leather handles, a full top-zip closure and sculptural mixed-metal hardware. The focal point is impossible to miss: a silver-tone Medusa head set inside a wide gold-tone disc engraved GIANNI VERSACE. A black leather handbag, except Versace gave it a Medusa the size of a compact mirror. Correct.

The handles are anchored by polished gold- and silver-tone fittings with long geometric tabs, bringing a sharper, jewellery-like finish to the otherwise minimal body. Gentle gathers at the sides and lower corners soften the shape and allow the leather to sit with a naturally relaxed slouch.

Inside, the bag is lined in black Medusa jacquard and fitted with a zipped pocket finished with its own gold-tone Medusa coin pull. Apparently one Medusa was not enough.

The bag presents very well overall and remains structurally sound, with visible signs of wear consistent with age and previous use.
